Ozzie

Hi, My name is Ozzie (previously Tommy) and I was adopted from Maryborough Animal Refuge, about 4yrs ago now! My Mum, Dad and Granny just adore me! I did live with Granny for a few years in Maryborough, just because Mum was at uni, but now I'm back with her in her new home in Emerald and she is so happy! She is always telling me how much she loves me.

I would just like to thank the Animal Refuge for looking after me after I was abused and thown out onto the streets until my new family came and picked me up. When my Mum and Granny found me on the website and decided to come in, I had a little jumper on because I was so skinny and got cold easily. Just letting you know that I am happy and well, spend my days in the aircon if its hot, or laying outside in the sun with my new friend Mya (adopted not too long ago from up here) if its a bit cold. I hope you like my photos.

First one is me on Mums' lap at the local pub waiting for lunch!

The next one is of me in my new house (sticking my tounge out at Mum taking the photo).

These are my good friends, Mya on the left and Pepper on the right, with me in the middle, cooling down in the horse water while it fills up on a hot day!

Once again, thank you so much for everything, keep up the great work!

Molly (formally Winnie)

My new Mum, Jo, came and collected me yesterday morning (March 8th 2009). She knew that I needed her to email the refuge to say "Thanks so much". We had a very slow trip back to Brisbane as the traffic was dreadful. Mum says I was brilliant in the car, with the little stop for walk and toilet being successful. When I arrived home I met the cat, who is old and Mum had warned me that she is usually cranky and usually spits and runs when she sees a dog - and we walked in the back door together. We were soooo OK with each other. We had a walk along the Manly esplanade last night and Mumlet me touch noses with several other dogs - very sociable.I have been allowed to claim one of the lounge chairs as my own when I'm not actually on Mums' lap.

P.S. Have you got the idea that Mum thinks I'm just wonderful??

Cassie

My new Mum and Dad came to the refuge just before Christmas 2008 and I made sure that I was on my very best behaviour when they looked in my kennel. A wag of my tail and a big kiss for both of them and the next thing I knew, I was in something called a car and taken to my forever home! I love my new Mum and Dad and they say that they are very proud of my progress. I am just thriving in my new home and I go swimming in the dam every day. I even get along great with Mum and Dads' minature ponies. They say that I am just a treat and they love me as much as I love them.

Hi there.

Just thought that I'd get Mum to let you all know I have settled in and they say that I am such a pleasure to have in the household. I am part of the family now and have grown such a lot and now, if anything, I am little bit too chubby, but still cute. Thank you Mum and love to all there.

Misty

Everybody tells Mum that I am a beautiful girl. I am a few pounds heavier than I was when she saw me on the website and arranged for me to live with her and Russell (he's the one without the freckles) in Victoria and everybody says that I am a beautifully natured girl.

I also live with Bluey, the ginger cat and Mum, in a lovely country town in Victoria called Talbot.
I love to go for long walks and just love everyone and everything. Mum also does pet portraits, so check out her web page

Hi, I was adopted 3 years ago on January 30th 2005 .....
I had always intended to get my new Mum to drop you a line to let you know how I am, but it's amazing how time goes by ... too quickly. Mu says that I am a fantastic dog and she finds it difficult to understand how "this wonderful canine" was surrendered twice, before she had the good fortune to adopt me, all the way from Brisbane ..... She says I am an extremely loving dog .... which is true as I love everyone, including children. I am a very happy, very spoilt dog and I love my "sister", Mums' other dog Edie and my "cousin" cat KC. I am very grateful to the refuge for all the effort that you took in making sure that Mum and I were a suitable match and for taking me to Gympie so Mum did not have to travel all the way to Maryborough ...... I consider myself very lucky to have this Mum as part of my life, as I am a very much loved and treasured and I make her laugh everyday as she says I am such a character. I have put on a lot of weight and my coat has become very thick and luscious ... in fact, I'm a bit of a glamour boy. I just wanted to let you know how loved I am and that I have a great life and I wanted to thank you all at the refuge .... you do such a wonderful job. It makes me sad to think of how many wonderful other pets are "discarded" by so many .... all my four legged friends have so much to be thankful to you for ... keep up the great work.

Yougi Clarke (Thanks to Mum for sending this for me)

Jersey Caramel Supremo (Woot Woot)

Uhmm ... My new family Couldn't think of a name me, as they all wanted differnet names, so they joined the names together and got Jersey Caramel Supremo (Woot Woot).

I love it here. It took me a while to get used to the dog, but we've ended up friends and now the dog is scared of me, because I hiss at him (haha). I likes trees and crawling around and hiding under everything as specially Hailee's bed and the lounge chairs.

Monteeee and Jersey Caramel SUPREMO!!! (woot woot) xo

Chew-Chew

Thanks so much to the staff at Marybourough,
for
helping me find my new home.

I really appreciated a lovely kind lady called Shannon and her partner, for offering to give me a lift back to Brisbane to meet my new family, sooner than expected.

I am so happy here. Dad lets me sit on his chair which is so comfy and I love getting a cuddle. I heard my new parents saying something about me being a big baby. Not sure what they mean exactly, but I do know they adore me.

They bought me a great toy, so I can play tug-o-war, but I have almost chewed it to bits. I love to play and have heaps of fun.

They even think I’m pretty smart. I do know what that means, but I'm not sure what they mean when they say I’m a bit cheeky.

Hello Maryborough.

Thank you so much for finding me my new home. I love it here very much. I have two older sisters, who I love to chase around the house and creep up on, when they are not watching.

It was tough when I first got here, because they didnt like me very much, but when Mummy kept loving me, they started to love me too.

I also have a brother and sister who are puppy dogs and I like to tease them by sitting at the back door and meowing.

I love to spend my days in the garden chasing lizzards and then I come in at night and sleep with Mummy and Daddy in the bed, as long as I beat my sisters in there.

I get spoilt rotten and I think I deserve it.

My favourite thing to do is to have a snooze in the bathtub, just for some alone time.

I know I am going to like spending my time here. I have lots of fun and I get so happy sometimes, I drool.

Thank you again Maryborough for finding me my home and I know my Mummy thanks you too!

P.S. from Mummy;
He is an amazing cat and completes my home. Thank you for allowing him to be a part of my life.

Hi everyone.
It has been 2 months now since I was adopted by my
new parents who spoil me rotten.

I was one of the lucky ones who was only with the refuge for about a week before I found my new home.
My new owner was volunteering at the refuge when he got attached to me and just had to take me home ( so happy that he did) .

Soon after arriving at my new home I had a haircut (which I really needed) my nails done, a bath and a full pampering (like all lady's should, shouldn't they)
he he

I am having so much fun now as I have a little girl to run around with and two cats to annoy.

I will keep you posted as to what is happening in the future with me and my family.

So to all the wonderful people at the refuge thank you for looking after me (if only for a short time) especially Helen and Marshal as they do such a fantastic job

much thanks
Lady xxx
