At the Refuge, we are lucky enough to see lots pets rehomed. Many of these pets come back and visit us with their new families for Hydrobaths and Boarding ... or just to say "Hello". We can now encourage the pets to ask their families to send in photos and updates, to let us know how they are settling into their new homes and we will place them on this page with pride.

So, if you are a pet who has been adopted from Maryborough Animal Refuge, get your new Mum or Dad to let us know how you have settled in and a bit about your new life, then take a couple of photos and email them to us at:- Happy Endings

Eddie

My new Mum & Dad found me at the Refuge back in October 2004 when I was just about 18months old.

They were looking for a puppy and came to the home just at the right time as I had only been brought in that day. Although I was in rather a poor state we fell in love witheach other there and then so after I had been checked out by the Vet they picked me up and took me home to Tin Can Bay.

Later we moved to Cooloola Cove and here we have plenty of walking tracks through the bush where we go every morning and night. We also go to the beach as I love being able to run in to the water and chase the little fish. I also like going out on dad's boat and get very excited whenever a fish is caught.

I have also been on an aeroplane to Melbourne and whilst there found a cafe in a local park that served "dogachinnos" - very posh indeed.

In closing I would just like to say thank you to the refuge for taking me in and finding me such lovely parents to spend the rest of my time with.

Eddie

Bundy

My Name is Bundy. My new Mum and Dad, Kate and Tony adopted me from the Maryborough Animal Refuge in December, 2008. I am settling into my new home very well. I love sniffing and walking and fetching the ball. I especially love taking a flying leap into the creek at the park. I just can't wait to go ANYWHERE in the car! We often take trips to Tinana to visit my friend Blayz the cattle dog. We wrestle and chase the ball together. Kate says I'm an angel, althoughg I do like to dig the occasional hole and bury Tony's motorbike gloves. Kate thinks it's funny. I know that Tony and Kate will take good care of me forever and ever!

I won't take my eyes off the ball until Tony throws it!

I love the creek at the park. Even if the ball doesn't go in the water I take a detour and get nice and drenched!

I love sitting upstairs with Tony and Kate. My enormous tongue gives them sloppy kisses!

I love it here

Thank you Maryborough Animal Refuge for taking good care of me!

Buster

Hello all, my name is Buster and my new my parents thought I was too cute to resist when they came to the refuge in July 2008. Since then I have chewed many things (mainly things I shouldn't have!). I love to run and swimming is my favourite passtime. I watch my Mummy, Stacey, drive to work everyday at the fence and welcome her home every afternoon. I love riding in the back of the ute also. Lucky for me, I am very spoilt and sometimes get to share Mum and Dads' bed, but make sure I behave and don't fidget too much and just sleep all night long. They have also got me a little brother to keep me company and play with 24/7. I am very greatful for Maryborough Refuge for finding me a family and I know that my parents don't know how they would be without me now.

xx Buster xx

Ben and Misty

I am such a lucky boy. My new Mum, Pat, came to the refuge and I wooed her with my big, brown eyes and she just couldn't resist me. When I got home, I was introduced to my new "sister", Misty, who Mum had adopted from the refuge last year.

As yo can see, we get on famously and are very spolit. When we are not sunning ourselves in the garden or resting on the couch, there's nothing we like to do more than to have a "rough and tumble"

Thank you for looking after me and Misty , while we were with you and heaps of doggie kisses for letting Mum bring us home xxx

Tally

Just a quick update on my new home. My Mum and Dad adopted me back in February and kept my name, Tally. I have settled in really well, although Mum and Dad say I’m cheeky.

Every morning I say "Hi" to my friend Oscar, the cockatiel. I love running after my ball down the hallway and I love to play with the puppy across the road, but she is getting big now and jumps on me. I also love all sorts of food including avocado and banana.

Mum and Dad got me a jumper which I wear at night now, because I feel the cold. When Mum and Dad go for drives in the car, I love it! We went down to Brisbane to visit with family and I had a ball with the girls.

I will come and visit soon thank you for everything you did for me lots of kisses, Tally.

Rocket

I thought I would finally get my humans to send you a message and let you know that I am doing really well.

They adopted me in February after Mikaela lost her pup to a spider bite – when they say that "they" adopted me, it was really much more of a case of me adopting them! They tell people that I am a lovely little man that has settled in very well. I am allowed to sleep inside and have a winter coat. I love playtime with Barbie-Rosie the cat, I can run around the property with Nobby the dog and absolutely adore the kids.

I feel that I am well and truly one of the family and both my humans and I thank you all so much for looking after me as well as you did.

Lots of love

Rocket (and the Opitz family)

Turk

My name is Turk now, but you knew me as Scamp. I was adopted 3 months ago by my new family and I couldn’t be happier! I have my own special kennel and bed, my own fluffy warm coat for those cold nights and I have two ginger kittens. named Rusty and Rufus who are heaps of
fun to play with.

Mummy takes me walking around Ululla Park every morning and I love going for drives with Daddy in the back of the
ute or out on the boat fishing.

I sit at the gate and wait for the kids to come home from school because that’s when my play time starts in the afternoon.

I recently went on my first camping trip with my new family and I discovered how much I love to swim. Everyone I meet I greet with a wagging tail and a lick, and everyone says I am a loveable rascal.

Thank you so much for taking care of me while I was there and for finding my new family for me and don’t worry, I won’t be coming back too stay with you unless I am on holidays in the boarding house!

Licks and wags,

Turk

Bluebell

Hi, I was just Blue till my new Mum and Dad fell in love with me first time they looked into my beautiful face at Maryborough refuge and Mum said Blue was too plain a name for a beauty as me, so now I am Bluebell.
I have only been here four days, but I am happy and love my new Mum and Dad. Mum lets me on her bed and I snuggle up to her. I have a brother here, called Lama, who is a Burmese x. I like growling at him, but I guess I better stop soon as it upsets Mum. She loves us both.
Thank you all at the Refuge for looking after me till Mum came for me.
You are all special as is my Mum.
